Anistoriton is an electronic Journal of History, Archaeology and ArtHistory. Since 1997, it is published biannually in July and December, and it is freely available on the Internet. Submissions to the Journal are peer-reviewed by specialists in the relevant field and/or topic as well as by the Editorial Board.
As "anistoriton" is the Greek word for "ignorant in history," the Journal is an attempt to bridge the gap between professional historians and archaeologists and their specialized research, on the one hand, and the general educated public including other scholars and true history and archaeology lovers, on the other.
Ideally, authors should be on the faculty of an institution of higher education and/or hold at least a graduate degree in their fields. However, the Editorial Board welcome and encourage the submission of well written and researched studies by advanced undergraduate and graduate students (papers, analysis, etc) as well as by independent scholars, especially for the Viewpoints section. Generally, the Editorial Board place emphasis on the quality and relevance of the work submitted rather than the qualifications of the author.
